Horizon at Semiahmoo is a gated community of single-family homes, condominiums, and townhomes, as well as community retail spaces and a clubhouse. Situated on the Birch Bay side of Semiahmoo near Blaine Washington, the site slopes gently to the south and provides expansive views to the water and mountains beyond. The development is strongly committed to incorporating sustainable strategies into the site planning and the architecture of each individual component. The first phase of single-family designs will all be expected to meet strict BuiltGreen standards. Currently there are thirteen individual homes designed in many different sizes and configurations, yet tied together in their scales and textures to form a cohesive community that evokes the spirit of Northwest living – strong connections to the majesty of the place, simple and natural materials, and warm and muted palettes. All four partners were involved in the conceptual development of these designs, and there is a broad range of architectural expression.
